I am new to this. I want to change some of the ports in port.rrd A plain
editor doesn't seem to work. Do I need rrdtool on a linux machinne to do
this? Is there a win8 program to do it?

Thanks

Ed,

The '.rrd' files don't have a text format, hence they aren't editable.
I don't imagine the reason why you need to change the contents of an
'.rrd' file.

If you need more information on how they are created, or how they can be
dump into an '.xml' file, please check the following URL:

Jordi,

In the documentation of Monitorix I am pretty sure I read that the ports
monitored in the system were editable. I looked in the pm files and there
isn't anything there, so that is the reason for the question on the rrd
files. Specifically I want to show traffic on port 5060/udp and 4569/udp.
Some of the ports shown I am not interested in.

Thanks alot

Ed,

I understood that you wanted to edit the '.rrd' file directly.

You don't need to modify the Monitorix program (or .pm modules) to
change the monitored network ports. Monitorix, as many other open source
tools, has its own configuration file.

So, if you want to change the ports just edit the Monitorix
configuration file: '/etc/monitorix/monitorix.conf'. Don't forget to
restart Monitorix every time you change that file.

Regards.
